Overview Romania is an emerging property hot-spot and is currently witnessing something of a property boom. The climate varies from 23 degrees Celsius in the summer to very cold (minus 3) in the winter. The country is full of history and well connected with the rest of Europe, including flights from the UK to the capital, Bucharest. Investor Statistics With capital appreciation at around 25% per annum and rental yields of around 10%, Romania is proving to be an investment hot-spot, for individual investors and for large multi-nationals using Romania as their European headquarters. Taxation The tax law in Romania is quite complicated, so Alexander Richards would always recommend that you consult a tax specialist regarding your personal circumstances. Income tax is 19% and rental income is taxed at 16%. Average rental yields are between 8-10%. Financing Mortgages are available for up to 75% of the purchase price. Always consult a financial advisor for advice. |
